Tour Description
Fancy a short hop over the channel to sample some of the best tracks in the French and Italian Alps? 9 days of adventure and high altitude epicness 😎. Meeting at 8am for breakfast in Reims on the Saturday morning gives us a steadyish day to get to our first overnight spot near to Annecy and the edge of the Alps. *We will be getting the Eurotunnel at roughly lunchtime Friday 16th and getting a hotel for the night in Reims. If you wish to join us, let us know and we will forward the details with your booking confirmation email The next 6-7 days will be spent scouring the mountains for some of the very best off road tracks in Europe. But this is a recce run in its finest sense, so the tracks could be scenic or challenging (or both) It will be a camping based tour, so you will need equipment that is suitable for the location and time of year. We will be visiting a village or town most days, so food/water storage for a couple of days will be sufficient. It'll be a similar situation regarding fuel, so no need for dozens of jerry cans on the roof... You will need to have ✅️ Off road biased tyres + full size spare (don't forget the locking wheel nut key) ✅️ Recovery points front and rear ✅️ Full camping/cooking equipment (ideally roof top tent or 'swag' style tents) ✅️ Basic experience in 'Overland' or multiday style tours purely due to the quicker paced nature of a recce run. ✅️ A willingness to be hands on. Being a recce run means you have an active input in the tour. Be that dealing with an issue on a track, helping find the best bread in town or just saying what you think about a campsite. Make no mistake, this is going to be a drive into the relative unknown. Yes the tracks are there, but, apart from a couple, we don't know what to expect. There is also the high probability of camping at altitude. This brings the potential for very cold overnight temps, maybe even snow, and the need for good quality camp and sleep equipment. Even with all the above, it's definitely going to be a great laugh. Loads of banter, great food and inevitably mind blowing scenery. The price for this tour is £595 and is per vehicle. *It does not include any campsite fee's (usually total under £80 for the duration), toll road fee's or ferry/tunnel crossing.
