Our first recce through this incredible region exceeded every expectation—but after discovering countless hidden tracks and spectacular landscapes, we knew we had to come back for another expedition. Our adventure begins in the stunning alpine village of Kranjska Gora, nestled beneath the towering Julian Alps in Slovenia. From here we'll venture deep into one of Europe's greenest countries, following remote forest tracks and unpaved roads through breathtaking mountain scenery. With over 60% of Slovenia covered by ancient forest, you'll experience an off-road paradise unlike anywhere else, passing crystal-clear rivers, traditional villages, rolling farmland and countless viewpoints overlooking the magnificent Julian Alps. As we continue south, we'll cross into Croatia where the scenery transforms from lush forests to dramatic mountain ranges and spectacular views across the sparkling Adriatic Sea. We'll weave our way along rugged mountain tracks before arriving on the beautiful Island of Krk, where we'll enjoy a well-earned rest day. Spend your free time swimming in crystal-clear waters, exploring charming coastal towns, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. The adventure continues as we travel south along Croatia's stunning coastline, visiting a unique bear sanctuary before heading inland to discover an abandoned military airfield steeped in history. From there, we'll tackle one of the highlights of the expedition—a spectacular mountain track that takes us legally across the border into Bosnia & Herzegovina, opening the door to yet more incredible scenery. As our journey turns north once again, the adventure is far from over. We'll continue exploring hidden tracks and breathtaking viewpoints before finishing back in northern Slovenia. And because this is a genuine recce tour, there's every chance we'll discover even more incredible routes along the way. This is sure to be an unforgettable journey through two beautiful countries, combining alpine mountains, endless forests, stunning coastlines, fascinating history and some of the best off-road driving Europe has to offer.
