Madeira. What a truly amazing and diverse island. Known as the "Jewel of the Atlantic" and the "Island of Eternal Spring", the tiny Portuguese island of Madeira packs a punch well above it's weight. With banana clad cliffs that plunge to the sea, arid desert plains and mountains that easily reach the clouds. For an island that, in theory at least, can be driven around in less than 5 hours, you're probably wondering how on earth can we justify spending a whole 10 days here?
